Set your AI direction for 2027: an executive alignment workshop

2027 AI Planning Offsites

It's almost 2027. Does your leadership team have a coherent AI plan?

AI has advanced rapidly in 2026. Some businesses are already creating meaningful advantage and returns. Many leadership teams are still trying to connect their initiatives into a coherent plan.

Use your 2027 planning offsite to make the choices that matter: where to focus, what to invest in and who will own the outcome. Global Advisors brings your leadership team together to surface differences, agree priorities and build commitment around a coherent plan—with named owners and action for the next 90 days.

Engage Global Advisors for one of our few remaining AI Planning Offsite slots for late 2026 and early 2027.

November–December 2026 | January–March 2027

The decisions that matter

Choose the business outcomes. Then align the AI work.

The workshop connects improvements to today's business with the choices that prepare it for a different future. It examines how AI could strengthen operations and services, redesign customer journeys and decisions, or enable new propositions and business models.

  1. Ambition: which customer outcomes and sources of advantage should define the direction?
  2. Priority domains: which few business areas or end-to-end journeys deserve concentrated leadership attention?
  3. Existing initiatives: which use cases support those outcomes, which gaps remain and what should scale, change, stop or wait?
  4. Foundations: what must change across people, workflows, knowledge, data, technology and controls?
  5. Commitment: who owns delivery, resources, milestones and the evidence required to progress?

A domain might span lead-to-sale, customer-to-renewal, claims or the development-and-delivery lifecycle. Its scope follows your business economics and decision agenda.

Two starting points

Set the direction—or challenge the one you have.

AI-native ambition and mobilisation. For a leadership team agreeing what the business should become. We develop and test ambition options, select priority domains, map existing AI initiatives to the required changes and agree leadership commitments and stakeholder milestones.

AI strategy and conceptual architecture validation. For a team that already has a direction and needs an informed challenge before committing further. Working with the relevant business and technical owners, we test assumptions and boundaries, identify material gaps and agree design principles and a prioritised intervention list.

For the second route, we follow a representative workflow from its inputs to its business outcome. This brings questions about knowledge, permissions, memory, human approval and reliability into a concrete discussion. The output guides subsequent detailed design; implementation remains with your team and delivery partners.

A focused engagement

Prepare with purpose. Work through the choices. Mobilise.

Frame and prepare. Agree the decision agenda and authority of participants. Build on your existing strategy, AI initiatives and relevant performance information. Confidential interviews and a short alignment pulse surface different assumptions. A concise pre-read sets out the issues, evidence and alternatives.

Work through the choices. The standard executive offsite uses two consecutive working days: first to explore ambition, customer needs, economics and exposure; then to test alternatives, choose domains and make commitments. Focused ambition sessions and technical validation series are tailored to the questions, evidence and participants required.

Consolidate and mobilise. Review the decision record with the sponsor, complete priority opportunity briefs and agree a 30/60/90-day plan, indicative 12-month sequence and review points. A follow-up checkpoint within 30 days tests mobilisation against the decisions taken.

Preparation, workshop time, synthesis and follow-through form one engagement. The calendar is agreed around access to evidence and the people who own the decisions.

Global Advisors methods

Ground ambition in advantage, economics and evidence.

AI-SWOT examines how AI can amplify strengths and opportunities, mitigate weaknesses and threats, and create new exposure.

Quantified Vision™ connects customer need, economic core, disruption, uncertainty and strategic commitments. Its decision logic links the chosen ambition to the strategy and capabilities required.

Economic discipline. We distinguish capacity released, capacity redeployed, realised cost savings and incremental commercial value. Initial opportunity briefs identify baselines, target ranges, costs and the evidence finance and business owners need. Time saved becomes valuable through what changes in the business.

Accountable execution. For a representative workflow, we examine what can be automated, where AI may propose and where an accountable person must decide. Minimum control requirements are assessed separately from opportunity scores. Evidence must cover the complete business task as well as individual AI steps.

Your leadership decision pack

Know what to pursue, what to change and what to test next.

Your pack is tailored to the decisions the engagement must resolve. The core outputs are:

  • A chosen AI ambition, priority domains and the rationale for the choices.
  • A map connecting current and planned initiatives to domain outcomes and enabling requirements.
  • Priority opportunity briefs: value hypothesis, initial scope, owner, dependencies and next validation step.
  • A commitment portfolio of immediate moves, bounded experiments, options and activities to stop or defer.
  • A decision and assumption record, including unresolved questions, evidence gaps and decisions requiring further authority.
  • An owned 30/60/90-day mobilisation plan and indicative 12-month sequence with conditions for progression.

For strategy and conceptual architecture validation, the pack also sets out the principal boundaries, ranked gaps and risks, design and evaluation principles, and interventions required before detailed design or operational deployment.

Each phase ends with a decision to proceed, revise, gather evidence or stop. Any further strategy, detailed architecture, validation or advisory support is scoped against the need established.

Why Global Advisors

Strategic judgement informed by building and rebuilding.

We committed leadership time and capital to becoming an AI-native strategy firm. Our work with knowledge, models, permissions, workflows and people has required practical choices and repeated revision as the technology changed. The lessons from that journey inform the questions we bring to your team.

We combine that experience with quantitative strategy, economics and business-model thinking. Our advice is independent of a particular technology platform, and the workshop builds on the work your team has already done.

Scope and participation

Bring the people who can make the decisions stick.

The standard executive offsite is designed for a CEO-sponsored team of up to 10 participants. Finance, business-domain owners and technology, data, people or risk specialists join where their decisions and expertise are required. A technical validation series brings the relevant architecture, knowledge and control owners into the working sessions.

We agree the scope, preparation inputs, format, location and dates with your sponsor. Travel and preparation are planned around the on-site work. Initial discussions use business context and aggregated information; sensitive operational material is handled through an agreed channel.

Begin with the decision your team needs to resolve. We will help define an engagement that can produce a useful answer and an actionable next step.
